Instead of traditional algorithmic classification, the second trend is about building value on existing resources. Instead of "you are a 3.5...", more and more companies are adopting a positivist model that enables good people to become even better by providing them with intelligent feedback with real ideas and tools to improve their performance. Most people actually want to improve their performance, and generally value the employer's efforts to pursue that goal, feeling that they are investing in them.
