EXAMPLE 1.
SA.SA - Food Distribution
Situation:
-
"SA.SA" is an organization dedicated to distribution and marketing of food products throughout Europe;
-
Taking into account the geographical dispersion, there are global, national and regional teams, distributed by usual organic departments;
-
9500 employees work in the company. The headquarters are in the Netherlands.
Identified problems:
-
Many employees enter and leave the organization regularly, and geographic dispersion makes teams autonomous;
-
The sense of cultural "unity" is lost;
-
The organization loses the face of its leader(s) since most employees do not have contact with the higher hierarchical sphere;
-
The organization loses personality and employees tend to view their work as to an obligation because they do not know the highest result of their effort.

Corrective action (team building):
To increase integration in company culture and greater commitment of all, HR promotes integrated team training activities, working with everyone to solve given collective problems, interdependence processes, and even management activities specifically designed regarding company's reality, which can be assimilated to its actual activity.
These activities happen in a natural way, in a different environment for all, integrated into other events. In this way, the training happens practically without the participants taking account, interspersed with tourist activities.
